China National Scientific Instruments and Materials Import/Export Corporation (CSIMC) was established in June 1962. Its former name is China Scientific Instruments and Materials Corporation. This name was changed in December 1988, with approval of former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. CSIMC is a state-owned enterprise, originally under the leadership of the State Commission of Science and Technology. In 1998, with the approval of the State Council, the company was transferred and became a member under the leadership of Central Work Committee for Enterprises. In 2003, again with the approval of the State Council CSIMC was merged into China National Biotec Corporation and became a subsidiary of this group company.
